Example newsletter

At first, writing up the newsletters was daunting. I didn't really know what to write or what kind of message I wanted to send. My first newsletter was … 1 page. I followed similar path from the director before me, but then it grew to 2 pages, and then 4 pages. It has stayed pretty steady there. I've attached here the one I did right before we re-opened during the Covid-19 Pandemic - June 2020

I've been able to cover a pretty large variety of topics as director already. A lot of parents have questions, and often it's the same as another parent. I decided to use the newsletter as a way to answer those questions, keep parents up to date, broach a subject that we may be needing to address or introduce new policies/procedures. I love the creativity I get to use and I love, love writing. It's definitely a great way for me to use some writing skills that I've developed over the years. It's also a great way to gently open the conversation to anything that needs to be addressed, such as tardy parents or reasons behind why we do things, and even how children learn.
